 ABOUT IBCLC® DAY

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®) Day, celebrated on March 6, 2024, recognizes and celebrates the services that IBCLCs provide to expectant parents, new mothers, and the healthcare teams who form their circle of care. International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®) introduced IBCLC Day to recognize and thank all IBCLCs around the world who significantly transform world health by providing skilled lactation care and to reflect on the incredible impact that IBCLCs have made over the past 39 years.   • Helping moms establish an optimal breastfeeding routine
  • Finding the best breastfeeding position for a mom and her baby
  • Helping with issues related to latching, milk supply, breast anomalies, cleft palate, tongue ties, and more 
  • Offering guidance on breastfeeding pain and conditions like mastitis and plugged ducts
  • Helping moms cope with common and complex lactation challenges

The North Georgia Health District wishes to give special recognition on this date to our IBCLCs who work directly in our health district and with our health district staff to help form our own circle of care in north Georgia!

Carol Hendrix serves as the IBCLC for the North Georgia Health District and is our WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator.

Carol works closely with the following groups of dedicated IBCLCs who serve north Georgia residents.They all work as a team, ensuring continuity of care in our communities.
