Policy:

The Living Bridge Center is dedicated to ensuring all patients have access to life saving drugs as a result of medical services. The Living Bridge Center will make every reasonable effort to assist the patient with gaining access to medications through medications assistance programs (i.e., ADAP, private insurance, patient assistance where possible). The Living Bridge Center cannot pay the full cost of medications for any patient for more than one month. It is the responsibility of the patient to do what is required, and to submit required documentation to remain eligible for medications assistance programs.

Procedure:

Upon determining programmatic eligibility for services at The Living Bridge Center, the Economic Support Counselor will work with the patient to determine the most appropriate medications access program. These activities will include working with the patient to complete and submit all required enrollment paperwork for the appropriate medications access program.

It is the responsibility of the patient to work with the Economic Support Counselor to ensure on going eligibility for any and all medications access program. Failure on the part of the patient may/will result in a loss of access to AIDS medications. Generally, these medications access programs require semi-annual eligibility processes. Failure to provide the appropriate forms/documents to the Economic Support Counselor will result in loss of access to medications.

Patients that are enrolled in private insurance plans covering medications that fail to maintain eligibility for said insurance, will be enrolled in the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. This process may take up to a month for enrollment and eligibility to be obtained. Failure to maintain eligibility for the ADAP may/will result in no access to medications.

The Living Bridge Center will consider obtaining medications on a case by case basis. In no case will assistance from The Living Bridge Center be provided an on-going basis.
